Overview:
The Research Analyst will plan and coordinate research projects, including research design, data collection, data coding, data analyses and report writing. The Research Analyst will provide support for various research projects, including conducting literature reviews, collecting research data, analyzing statistical data, editing documents, articles, chapters and reports for publication; and working as a team member on other projects as requested. The Research Analyst may be asked to represent Research Services on internal Casey committees for short or long-term projects. The Research Analyst may be asked to supervise Research Assistants, Staff Assistants and/or temporary staff.
Nature and Scope of Position:
· This position reports directly to the Director – Research.
· This is a full-time, exempt position that may require workweeks in excess of 40 hours and requires travel up to 15% of the time for conferences and meetings, and travel to other Casey locations.
· This position will work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish analysis and reporting on ongoing research projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Design, plan and coordinate research studies. This may include consulting with other Research Services staff, other Headquarters, Regional or Field Office staff, and external consultants regarding study design, analysis, and implications.
2. Design data collection forms, interview schedules, surveys and code books; code data; supervise the data entry and coding process; and manage research databases.
3. Design letters to research participants and prepare human subject consent forms.
4. Lead and conduct statistical analyses for a variety of projects.
5. Design, write and edit documents, articles, chapters and reports which summarize the findings of assessment measure analyses and other evaluation research.
6. Co-author articles for conferences and professional journals. This may include locating and synthesizing relevant literature, preparing literature reviews, and presenting at local, regional or national conferences.
7. May orient and supervise one or more Casey Research Services student interns.
8. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. Understands and adheres to code of ethics and practice for functional area. Ensures alignment with organizational values, goals, and directives in all work performed.

Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other closely related field required, plus 3 years experience in a research setting. Ph.D. may be substituted for experience. Intermediate knowledge of research methods and statistical analysis including correlational techniques, ANOVA, chi square, t tests is required. Knowledge of child and family social services, excellent oral and written communication skills, experience in designing and writing technical reports required. Experience in and a solid working knowledge of various software applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SPSS to create text documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and simple graphics. Ability to travel to other Casey offices, planning meetings or conferences is required.
Knowledge of APA style in terms of professional writing is preferred. Excellent negotiation and listening skills are required. Other desirable characteristics include a strong initiative and self-starting approach, flexibility, the ability to deal effectively with rapid growth and change, and the ability to organize and prioritize work quickly in response to changing needs.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate diplomatically, manage multiple tasks and deadlines and keep work moving forward in a timely manner, ability to use library resources and conduct computerized literature searches. Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of Casey staff members, student interns, managers, directors, division personnel, consultants, outside professionals, and members of the national social work, psychology, and academic communities. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing tasks as necessary, both as a team leader and as a team member. The ability to lead research project (s) in a deadline driven environment with moderate supervision is a must. This includes the preparation of work plans, the delegation of tasks, overseeing follow through, and keeping supervisor informed of project (s) work plan. Excellent communications and leadership skills with the ability to effectively motivate and guide Research Assistants, Research Specialists and independent consultants are critical.
Demonstrated ability to lead evaluative research project(s) in a deadline-driven environment with moderate supervision required. This includes managing multiple-tasks and deadlines, pushing work forward in a timely manner, preparing work plans, delegating tasks, overseeing follow-through, and keeping supervisor informed of project(s) work-plans.

Must pass a criminal background check. In the event of Casey business that requires use of a personal vehicle, must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
