The Casey Family legacy: An unwavering commitment to children and families.

Casey Family Programs draws inspiration from our founder, Jim Casey, a visionary and an entrepreneur who recognized that a nation's most valuable resource is its children.

The founder of United Parcel Service, Jim Casey understood that children need the love and support of a stable family in order to thrive. To that end, he established Casey Family Programs in 1966 as a national private foundation, based in Seattle.

Casey Family Programs works each day in Jim Casey's spirit of compassion and concern, singularly focused on better serving America's children.

Jim Casey and his family left a lasting legacy to improve the lives of vulnerable children and families. In addition to Casey Family Programs, other organizations that bear the Casey family name include:

Annie E. Casey Foundation is a private charitable organization dedicated to helping build better futures for disadvantaged children in the United States. It was established in 1948 by Jim Casey and his siblings, who named the foundation in honor of their mother. In 1976, Jim Casey established Casey Family Services as a source for high-quality foster care. The direct services arm of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Casey Family Services offers a broad range of programs for vulnerable children and families in Baltimore and throughout the Northeast.

The Marguerite Casey Foundation was created by Casey Family Programs in 2001 to help expand Casey's outreach and further enhance its record of leadership in child welfare. Based in Seattle, the Marguerite Casey Foundation is a private, independent grant-making foundation dedicated to helping low-income families strengthen their voice and mobilize their communities.

Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative was created in 2001 by Casey Family Programs and the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Based in St. Louis, it is a national initiative to help youth in foster care make successful transitions to adulthood.
