From our 18-person field office in Phoenix, Casey Family Programs provides comprehensive services in foster and kinship care to Maricopa County—whose 3 million residents make up half of the state’s population.

Located near downtown Phoenix, we opened our doors in 1990. We also have a six-person satellite office in Tucson, which has operated since 1983.

Education is a priority
A point of pride for us is the high graduation rate of teens we serve. More than 90 percent graduate from high school, and many go on to college—due to their hard work and the loving support of their foster and kinship families.

We contribute to their success by providing strong case management—assessing the needs of youth and families, connecting them to needed services, and monitoring their progress. When they turn 18, we stay involved to help them become successful adults.

Helping children from cities to reservations
Currently, the families we serve are ethnically and racially diverse: about 40 percent are Caucasian, 30-35 percent African American, and 25 percent Hispanic.

Arizona has the nation’s largest population of American Indians living on reservations. We dedicate a staff member to working with tribes and tribal organizations to improve the welfare of Indian children.

About 65 percent of the youth we serve live with foster families, and 35 percent are being cared for by relatives in kinship care arrangements that we support in collaboration with other agencies. Our partners include the state Department of Economic Security, Aid to Adoption of Special Kids, Arizona’s Children’s Association, Children’s Action Alliance, and Florence Crittenton Services.

What’s a field office?

Our Casey field office works to settle young people from the public child-welfare system in safe and stable families through:

  • foster care
  • kinship care
  • family reunification
  • guardianship
  • adoption
We recruit local foster families, provide case management services, connect youth and families to community services, and help youth make a successful transition to adulthood.
