Powerful Families workshops

Staying strong, staying together

Powerful Families workshop participant and daughter

Powerful Families promotes family stability and security. Recognizing that poverty is one of the root causes of family instability, we help strengthen the ability of low-income parents to sustain healthy families.

Powerful Families programs are currently in place in 24 cities across across the United States in:

  • Arkansas
  • Arizona
  • California
  • New York
  • Texas
  • Washington
  • Washington, D.C.

Free workshops
The program provides parents, kinship care providers, and foster care youth becoming legal adults with tools to advocate for the material and psychological needs of their families. Through free, fun workshops, they become better financial managers and more effective leaders and advocates for their families and communities.

Collaborating partners
To ensure that our work has a broad and lasting impact, Powerful Families is a collaboration among several local and national partners throughout the country. these include community and faith-based organizations, child welfare organizations, and state governments.

It takes a dedicated team of service providers to uplift communities in need. That's why Powerful Families joins existing community-based collaborations.

Web site
Workshop facilitators, participants, and anyone interested in learning more about the program can find information at the Powerful Families Web site. Visit PowerfulFamilies.org.
