Working with national, state and local partners to improve the child welfare system and ultimately prevent the need for foster care

Casey Family Programs is a nonpartisan resource for federal and state policymakers.
Through our research, direct practice and system improvement work, we educate policymakers about the challenges that face child welfare systems. We promote promising practices and underlying policies that improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families. And we bring partners to the table that can extend the depth and reach of our public policy work.

Casey Family Programs’ public policy agenda is focused on the need for federal child welfare finance reform and the need to reauthorize and expand Title IV-E waivers. To learn more about these areas, read the first two in our latest series of white papers on improving child welfare.
