Dual Licensure for Foster and Adoptive Families: Evolving Best Practices

Expediting permanency planning for children in care.

Casey Family Programs partnered with the National Resource Center for Foster Care and Permanency Planning to examine how dual licensing of foster and adoptive families can help expedite permanency planning for children who enter the child welfare system.

This document provides information about best or promising practices for colleagues who are considering the process of dual licensure and who are conducting common home studies with foster and adoptive families.

This 41-page report, produced in 2000, is based on a survey of state foster care and adoption managers and foster and adoptive families.
