On any given day, America’s foster care system serves more than 500,000 children. Thank you for joining Casey Family Programs in the effort to improve their lives. In the right-hand column of this page, you'll find a copy of our 2007 Annual Report “And how are the children?” It features our 2020 Strategy to safely reduce the number of children in foster care by 50 percent by the year 2020 and reform America’s child welfare system.
In 2007, we expanded our work for change by providing non-partisan research, data and expertise to federal, state and local policymakers. We changed lives by directly serving thousands of children and families touched by the foster care system in five states. And finally, we offered consulting services to public child welfare systems in 13 states to help them safely reduce the number of children in foster care and improve services to children and families.
While this report details our successes, we still have a long way to go to fulfill the promise of our 2020 Strategy. We rely on partners and leaders like you. You help us create public will for change on behalf of children and families touched by foster care.
