And How Are the Children? (May 2009) highlights innovative strategies in child welfare that are making a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families across the country. Many of these efforts are happening with the assistance of Casey Family Programs, in partnership with jurisdictions.
The report uses poignant narrative to illustrate promising practices and effective policies that are helping to connect and reconnect families from coast to coast, such as permanency roundtables in Georgia, differential response in Santa Clara County, Calif., and disproportionality reduction efforts in Texas.
These stories show what is possible when leaders commit to improving the lives of children. In sharing them with the public, we hope to spur people to take action, and provide a compass and a driver for the change our children need and deserve.
The report also summarizes Casey Family Programs' work and the expansion of our influence over the past year.
