Casey Family Programs’ San Antonio Field Office opened in 1986 and serves Bexar County and six surrounding counties. We help young people involved in the child welfare system find safe and permanent families.

We provide short-term interventions with three primary goals: reunification with family or extended family, guardianship, or adoption.

Services include:

  • Finding family or extended family
  • Facilitating family conferences and decision-making
  • Family engagement
  • Planning for lifelong connections
  • Emotional and mental health supports
  • Connecting youth and family to community resources

Helping youth find a family to call their own
We provide services specifically designed to help youth ages 11-17 and their younger siblings in the foster care system find permanent homes. These youth are referred by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS).

Supporting families
We provide services and case management to parents and relatives caring for children ages 10 and younger who are in the managing conservatorship of the state. These services strengthen families and ensure children grow up in a safe, permanent home. We also provide services to families once their TDFPS case has been closed. In addition, Casey Family Programs provides short-term emergency financial resources and help in obtaining public assistance.

Taking the first steps to adulthood
We provide services to young adults ages 18-25 who have aged out of foster care. This can include help reunifying with parents or relatives, adoption or guardianship.

Our national goals to safely reduce the number of children in foster care
Casey’s San Antonio Field Office contributes to Casey’s national goals by:

  • Providing services that create safe and permanent families for children, youth, and young adults.
  • Partnering with TDFPS to offer coaching and mentoring
  • Collaborating with juvenile court and other community agencies
  • Working with CPS to strengthen their Parent Leadership Program.
